These terms are an agreement between you and LaserMind ("we", "us") about your use of https://lasermind.org and its exercises, tools and content (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
1. What LaserMind is — and is not
LaserMind offers attention, memory and focus exercises, practice tools and educational articles that summarise published research.
Practice, not diagnosis. Exercise scores are practice metrics for comparing you with your own past results. They are not medical, psychological or educational assessments and do not measure intelligence, "IQ" or "brain age".
Not medical advice. Nothing in the Service is medical advice or a treatment for any condition. If you have concerns about your memory, attention, mood or health, talk to a qualified professional.
Evidence is labelled honestly. We cite research and label how strong the evidence is. Improvements on an exercise do not necessarily carry over to other tasks or daily life, and results vary between people.
2. Health and safety
Breathing and relaxation exercises: stop if you feel dizzy, short of breath or unwell. Do not hold your breath if you are pregnant or have heart, lung or blood-pressure conditions without medical advice.
Do not use the Service while driving, operating machinery or in any situation that needs your full attention.
Our exercises avoid rapid flashing, but if you have photosensitive epilepsy or feel discomfort, stop and consult a doctor.
Take breaks. A few minutes a day is enough; more is not necessarily better.
3. Who can use the Service; accounts
Anyone may use the exercises as a guest without an account. Children should use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for supervising their use; Kids mode reduces outside content and streak pressure. You must be 16 or older to create an account.
If you create an account (for example with Google sign-in), you must give accurate information, keep access to your sign-in method secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account. One person, one account.
4. Acceptable use
Please use the Service fairly. You agree not to:
use bots, scripts or other automation to play exercises, submit results or manipulate streaks, points, achievements or leaderboards;
scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of the Service, or use it to build a competing database or dataset, including for training AI models, without our written permission;
interfere with or disrupt the Service, probe or bypass its security, or access areas you are not authorised to use;
use the Service in breach of any law or anyone else's rights;
impersonate anyone, or create accounts for someone else without permission.
We may remove results that look automated or manipulated.
5. Your content
Some features let you add your own content, such as reflection notes or check-ins. You own it. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the Service to you. It is private by default; we will not publish it without your action.
6. Our content and intellectual property
The Service — its software, exercises, design, text, graphics and videos — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial practice. Teachers and coaches may show exercises in class or sessions, but may not resell or redistribute them.
Research papers and other works we cite belong to their authors and publishers; we link to them and summarise them for educational purposes. Brand names mentioned belong to their owners and do not imply endorsement.
If you believe something on the Service infringes your rights, contact [email protected] with details and we will review it promptly.
7. Third-party services, links and ads
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services (for example Google sign-in) and may show advertising in the future. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. Ads are never shown in Kids mode or inside an exercise in progress.
8. Price and changes to the Service
The Service is currently free. If we offer paid features, we will present their price and terms clearly before you buy, and they will be governed by additional terms. We continually improve the Service and may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the Service or a significant feature that holds your data, we will give reasonable notice where possible and let you export your data.
9. Suspension and ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time, and delete your account in your account settings.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where needed to protect users, the Service or to comply with law. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond, and let you export your data unless the law prevents it.
10. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it accurate, available and secure, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that saved results will never be lost, or that it will produce any particular result for you. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or guarantees that you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you and that cannot be excluded by contract.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of the free Service, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you live in the EU or UK, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. This does not take away the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country where the law allows. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us — most issues can be solved quickly.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders in the Service or by email in advance. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can stop using it and delete your account.
14. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor that continues the Service under terms at least as protective of you. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
